The Toronto Maple Leafs have picked Stuart Percy with their 25th overall selection in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.
The steady, consistent Mississauga Major isn’t overly offensive, but does transition the play from defense to offense well and makes quick breakout passes to his forwards.
Where Percy shines is in his defensive play. The six-foot-one, 185-pound Percy uses strong positioning, a quick stick and a willingness to engage physically on the opposition to defend effectively. Using a good ability to read how a play develops also aids Percy in defending his own end.
