The Ottawa Senators have selected Plymouth Whalers winger Stefan Noesen with the 21st overall pick in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft Guide.
The gritty, hard working winger is a tenacious forechecker with a good blend of offensive instinct and sheer determination. Noesen is also very competent in his own end and is especially effective on the penalty kill.
But that’s not to confuse Noesen as a sole defensive specialist. His heavy shot sent the puck to the back of the net 34 times in 68 games this season.

An overall quality package, the only think lacking from Noesen is stronger skating ability.
