From Aaron Vickers, Future Considerations:

The Edmonton Oilers have made Windsor Spitfires forward Taylor Hall the first pick in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.

The 18-year-old Calgary native had an impressive year, scoring 40 goals and 106 points in just 57 regular season games with Windsor. Hall, ranked first since last season by Future Considerations, had 106 points this season while helping the Spitfires to a Memorial Cup championship. It was Windsor’s second consecutive championship with Hall being named MVP on both occasions.

Hall also represented Canada at the World Junior Championship, named to Canada’s all-star team and helping Canada earn a silver medal.

The Boston Bruins, as expected, selected Tyler Seguin as a result.
