From Aaron Vickers:

While the Drummondville Voltigeurs are still battling for the President’s Cup, forward Sean Couturier has already pulled in some impressive hardware.

The six-foot-four centre was the big winner at the QMJHL’s Golden Puck Awards Gala, bringing in both the Michel-Briere Trophy and Michael-Bossy Trophy.

Couturier bested fellow 2011 draft eligible Jonathan Huberdeau and Philip-Michaël Devos, who skated with the Gatineau Olympiques and Victoriaville Tigres this season, for the Briere award, given annually to the league’s most valuable player. Couturier’s 96 points placed him fifth in league scoring, but the Bathurts, NB. product was limited to 58 games after representing Canada at the 2011 World Junior Championship in Buffalo. His 1.66 points-per-game was a league-best.

Currently ranked as the number-two prospect for the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, Couturier also edged out Huberdeau and his Saint John Sea Dog’s teammate Nathan Beaulieu (9th) for the Bossy. The trophy is awarded by the QMJHL to the league’s top professional prospect.

Huberdeau was also shut out of the Paul-Dupont Trophy, awarded to the league’s personality of the year. Montreal Junior forward and Montreal Canadiens prospect Louis Leblanc took home the honour.
