From Dan Stewart:

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins is ranked first yet again.

But it’s Jonathan Huberdeau’s name that screams loudest in April’s ranking for the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.

Ranked sixth just a month ago, Huberdeau’s draft stock has skyrocketed after an impressive run in the first round of the QMJHL playoffs has complimented an already impressive season which saw the Saint John Sea Dogs standout eclipse the 100-point plateau.

April marks the first month that Drummondville Voltigeurs centre Sean Couturier hasn’t been the top-ranked prospect out of Quebec. With Huberdeau’s rise, Couturier has been pushed to the three-spot, while Swedish defenseman Adam Larsson falls to fourth – his lowest position of the year.

Kitchener Rangers captain Gabriel Landeskog rounds out the top-5.

With Huberdeau’s ascent up the chart, Niagara IceDogs defenseman Dougie Hamilton falls out of the furious five for the first time in 2011. He’s still ranked as the second-best defensive prospect behind Larsson, though, ahead of Ryan Murphy, Nathan Beaulieu and Duncan Siemens, all ranked within the top 10.
