Biggs shows little at U18

For as large a tournament as some of his teammates had, one would figure his name alone would put him in the category of having a successful event.

But Tyler Biggs was anything but at the World Under-18 Championship in Germany.

And while Biggs did score an important overtime goal against Canada in the semifinal, it was a case of too-little, too-late by the time the gold medal was hanging from his neck. Continue reading

Gibson, teammates impress at U18’s

The 2011 IIHF U18 World Hockey Championship finished up recently in Germany with Americans claiming their third consecutive gold after beating Sweden in a thrilling overtime final.

An extremely talented Russian squad finished third after defeating the scrappy Canadian squad in the bronze medal game.

There were a handful of draft eligible prospects that really stood out with game changing performances, enough to boost their draft stock for this upcoming June’s NHL Entry Draft.

Developed by Kakisvision and located at www.futureconsiderations.ca (note: site is developed in HTML5 and may require users to update/upgrade their web browser), the Centre features profiles, articles and video of the top prospects of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. In conjunction with the Future Considerations blog, FC will bring you all the information you can handle leading up to the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.

That includes FC’s 2011 NHL Entry Draft Guide, scheduled for release in late May. With over 100 profiles and scouting reports, a mock draft, features on many of the top prospects eligible and more, the Guide is the most comprehensive available online.

The 2011 NHL Entry Draft will be held in Saint Paul, MN. The first round will be held on Friday, June 25th with rounds 2 through 7 held the following day. The Edmonton Oilers hold the first pick in the draft for the second consecutive year. Continue reading
