A junior-aged player eligible for the 2011 NHL Entry Draft has been charged in a fatal accident that claimed the life of an 18-year-old Saskatchewan woman.

The highly touted 17-year-old WHL player was charged with impaired driving causing death, dangerous driving causing death.  He was also charged with failing to provide a breath sample.

The charges stem from a single vehicle accident outside of Calgary in April that claimed the life of 18-year-old Emily Matthewson of Regina.

The prospect is to appear in court on the charges June 9. The Youth Criminal Justice Act prevents the player from being identified.
