The QMJHL draft is Saturday.

But the league’s top prospect will not be in attendance.

Cole Harbour, NS. native Nathan MacKinnon, widely regarded as the best prospect out of Atlantic Canada since Sidney Crosby, will be a no-show.

The 15-year-old MacKinnon, who played at Shattock St Mary’s last year, is reportedly considering going the NCAA route. Playing in the QMJHL would make him ineligible to do so.
