Shea could be bound for Moncton

According to Nathan Fornier of The World of Junior Hockey, the Moncton Wildcats will see 16-year-old Brandon Shea added to the fold this season.

Shea, selected 13th overall in the QMJHL Entry Draft, originally planned on attending Boston College in 2013. Instead, it appears as though he’s decommitted to the school in favour of the Wildcats.

“I have heard from two sources that Brandon Shea will be decommitting from BC to sign with the Moncton Wildcats,” tweeted Fornier. “Nothing is official yet.”

Moncton traded up in the draft to select Shea, giving up their second and sixth round picks in 2011 and its first round pick in 2012.

“The challenge for us is to get him here because he has some significant options,” Wildcats head coach and director of hockey operations Danny Flynn told the Times Transcript after the draft.
