From Aaron Vickers:

Jacob Trouba will be the biggest attraction for the US National Team Development Program this season.

Next season, he could become the Kitchener Rangers main event.

The Rochester, MI. native has yet to commit to an NCAA program and admitted he hasn’t ruled out playing in the Ontario Hockey League next season.

Asked by Sunaya Sapurji of Yahoo! Sports, Trouba admitted a possibility of joining the Rangers next season

“It’s still open, yes,” he said, adding he hasn’t pledged to a college program because he does not want to risk breaking his word should he choose Major Junior.

Trouba’s hometown University of Michigan is a strong candidate should he pursue the college route.

He was originally selected by Kitchener in the third round of the 2010 OHL Priority Selection.

Trouba, ranked 6th in Future Considerations’ Preliminary Ranking for the 2012 draft, had six goals and 19 points in 37 games with the NTDP last year and was named to the USHL’s All-Star Game.
