Canada unveils development camp roster

But for Hockey Canada, the journey starts now.

Canada unveiled a roster of four goaltenders, 16 defensemen and 26 forwards for its summer development camp, the first official grouping in identifying and assembling its potential roster for the tournament in Edmonton and Calgary in December. Continue reading



Blues’ Tarasenko staying with Sibir Novosibirsk

Vladimir Tarasenko is staying home.

The St. Louis Blues prospect has decided to spend the 2011-12 season with Siber Novosibirsk, the team he has played the last three seasons with.

Tarasenko, who made the announcement on the club’s website Tuesday, was the Blues’ first pick, 16th overall in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. Many speculated he would push for a roster spot in St. Louis in September. Continue reading



Gardiner leaves Minnesota

Max Gardiner is a collegiate no more.

The St. Louis Blues prospect has parted ways with the University of Minnesota.

Gardner, selected in the third round, 74th overall of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft, had just one goal and three points in 17 games with the University of Minnesota in a limited role last season. Continue reading

At least, that’s what the St. Louis Blues may have planned for top prospect Jaden Schwartz.

As first reported by Andy Strickland, the St. Louis Blues have had conversations with the Tri City Americans of the WHL over the potential arrival of Schwartz for next season. The Americans own the rights to Schwartz after selecting him in the eighth round, 173rd overall in the 2007 WHL Bantam Draft. Continue reading
