Edmonton Oilers hockey club announced that they have sent forward Travis Ewanyk back to the Edmonton Oil Kings of the WHL.
The St. Albert, Alberta native had 16 goals and 27 points last season for the Oil Kings but had no points in Edmonton`s WHL Playoff run as they were swept in the first round of the 2011 playoffs. Continue reading
The Regina Pats have dealt defenseman Myles Bell to the Kelowna Rockets.
The Rockets acquired the 18-year-old in exchange for defenceman Colton Jobke, a second round WHL bantam draft pick in 2012 and a fifth round pick in 2013. Continue reading
The Colorado Avalanche have returned defenseman Duncan Siemens to the Saskatoon Blades of the WHL.
The move came after the Avalanche dropped a preseason contest 3-2 to the St. Louis Blues. The Sherwood Park, AB. native was pointless in nearly 19 minutes of action but was named the game’s third star.
Siemens, selected in the first round, 11th overall in June’s NHL Entry Draft, 38 assists and 43 points in 72 games with the Blades last year. He also had 121 penalty minutes.
The rugged blueliner is expected to wear a letter upon his return to Saskatoon’s lineup. He was voted as an assistant last year, but gave it up after fellow Avalanche prospect Stefan Elliott returned to the club. Continue reading

The Chicago Blackhawks announced that forward Phillip Danault has been returned to the Victoriaville Tigers of the QMJHL Wednesday.
Danault was selected 26th overall in June.
Danault, the teams first round pick in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, was selected ninth overall in the 2009 QMJHL Entry Draft by Victoriaville.
The 18-year-old Victoriaville, QC. native scored 23 goals and recorded 67 points in 64 games last season for the Tigres. He also captained the team to the quarter-finals in last year’s QMJHL playoffs before being eliminated in four games to the eventual Presidents Cup and Memorial Cup champion Saint John Sea Dogs.
